BACK TO BLOG

Have you ever considered the impact of your day to day decisions? The decisions and choices we make everyday have an impact on the planet, however big or small. It may seem like one person can only make so much difference but if everyone thought the same, nothing would ever change! In a time where we’re experiencing climate change resulting in crazy weather conditions (crazier than the usual UK weather!) it’s more important than ever to consciously make more sustainable decisions. Making positive change to impact the planet one person at a time!
If you’re wondering what a sustainable choice is, essentially it’s something you can incorporated into your life that will have less of an impact on the planet and is also able to be continued long into the future. It’s one thing to buy one piece of sustainable clothing or make an effort to save water for a week as a couple of examples but changes that can be sustained long term will make a bigger impact.
Our Commitment To Sustainability
Our mission at I Am Me is to not only design and produce gymwear that allows you to feel comfortable in your own skin when you're wearing them but to make a positive impact on the planet at the same time. Sustainability is truly at the heart of what we do.
Where we can, we use organic cotton from fair trade partners and sustainable materials in our pieces. Explore our range of organic cotton hoodies and t-shirts.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to make every one of our pieces fully sustainable but we do make sure that our manufacturing processes use sustainable methods. We only work with factories that use eco-friendly processes. The factories we chose to work with use state of the art machinery incorporating green practices, rainwater harvesting machines, solar panels and they also have electric work vehicles. The manufacturing process also ensures water is recycled after dying, screen prints are reused after use and the dyes are vegan and water based. These aspects of the manufacturing processes all support eco practices which are friendly to the planet, helping to fulfil our commitment to sustainability.
When it comes to our wider range of gymwear including sports bras and leggings it’s so important that these move with you and can stretch to accommodate any movement. We incorporate recycled yarns where we can, but we want our gymwear to feel as comfortable as a second skin when you’re wearing them, to achieve this we use the best materials to create complete comfort such as Nylon, Polyester and Elastane.

Buy Better
When you go shopping, do you base your purchasing decisions on more than how an item looks and fits? If so, you may already be a conscious consumer! A conscious consumer looks at the bigger picture, starting with what materials a product is made from all the way to the companies production methods, chosen logistics and supply chain processes. If you’re looking to live more sustainably, research is key to improve your own knowledge and awareness of such a wide topic. You can then start to incorporate your findings into your daily life or even share with others. Before clicking buy now on impulse, which is so easily done, taking the time to look into the origins and production processes of a product, it’s so worth the time investment if it leads to purchasing more sustainably.
Re-sell And Donate
Sustainable clothes are longer lasting as the materials they’re made from are high quality and designed to last. When you’re ready to part with an item of clothing, don’t let that be the end of it’s life! If you donate it to a charity shop or even re-sell online to make a bit of extra money, someone else can then love it as much as you did when you first bought it.
